This will be the sixth AACR Special Conference on pancreatic cancer. According to the U.S. National Cancer Institute, pancreatic cancer will account for approximately 44,330 deaths in 2018 and is poised to become the third leading cause of cancer deaths by 2030. As the field continues to grow, it is imperative that researchers can interact, share data, and discuss ideas to help reach the overall goal of improved treatment for pancreatic cancer. This conference will showcase sessions on tumor heterogeneity, immunology, prevention and early detection, and novel treatment combinations, among others. With continued support from the Lustgarten Foundation and the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, we anticipate that many of the leading researchers and clinicians in pancreatic cancer research will participate in the program.
