Thanks to the success of the inaugural Mucosal Immunology Course & Symposium (MICS) held in Toronto, Canada in 2016, SMI is pleased to announce the 2nd annual MICS event will take place at the Examination Schools at Oxford University in the United Kingdom!
We have developed a broad scientific program incorporating the latest ideas and concepts of immunity at mucosal surfaces. The meeting aims to provide a forum to stimulate synergistic interactions between both basic and clinical scientists to further our understanding of key topics in mucosal immunology. These include host-pathogen interactions at mucosal surfaces, developmental aspects of mucosal immunity, regulation of mucosal inflammation and tissue repair and gene-environment interactions in mucosal diseases. By considering findings from model systems, physiology and human disease across a range of mucosal sites, we also aim to obtain insights into conserved and tissue-specific circuits in mucosal homeostasis.
