“Celebrating the Intersection of Human, Natural, and Cultural Systems”


The Association for International Agricultural and Extension Education (AIAEE) Scholarly Activities Committee is requesting proposals for refereed abstracts relating to international agricultural and extension education to be presented at the 34th Annual Conference. Topics relating to the conference theme “Celebrating the Intersection of Human, Natural, and Cultural Systems” are encouraged, but all submissions will be given full consideration. The purpose of abstracts is to share the following:

Research: reporting on the systematic investigation into and study of materials and sources in order to establish facts and reach new conclusions.

 • Application: documenting a practical and/or field experience of applied extension education and/or agricultural education.

 • Theoretical/Philosophical: proposition to generate new knowledge concerned with or involving the theory of a subject or area of study rather than its practical application.

• Innovative models of educational programming: present a concept or idea that reflects innovative educational approaches for AIAEE-relevant audiences.

Important Rules:

1. Submitted proposals must have at least one author who is a current AIAEE member.

 2. Accepted proposals require one author who is a current member to be registered for the conference by February 1, 2018.

3. AIAEE professional members submitting proposals will be asked to review other abstracts.

4. Members may submit more than one proposal.

5. The deadline for submitting proposals is Friday, September 29, 2017 by 11:59 PM CST. No late abstracts will be accepted.

Submission Options and Descriptions:

• Oral Presentation: The submitted abstract will be considered only for oral presentation.

• Poster Presentation: The submitted abstract will be considered only for poster presentation.

• Oral Presentation-If rejected, consider for poster presentation: Abstract will be first considered for an oral presentation. If rejected, it will be automatically considered for a poster presentation.

Required Format for Abstracts

• Limit your abstract to 5,250 characters maximum (count includes spaces and the form enforces a hard cut off at this limit). This is approximately 750 words. The abstract should accurately communicate the overview of the study.

 • Section headings (see below) are required. Double space between sections.

• Figures and tables are NOT allowed.
